Frank A. Božičević
Artistic Director

Frank A. Božičević is a proud graduate of Duquesne University and was a performer with The Tamburitzans from 1985 to 1989. During his time with the ensemble, he served as lead accordionist, featured tambura player, and orchestra leader. It was also during these years that Frank began arranging music for the group’s productions—a passion and contribution he has continued to this day, along with providing musical instruction.
After his four years on stage, Frank remained actively involved with The Tamburitzans, traveling with the group as a bus driver and sound & lighting engineer. He continued to share his musical talents by performing with various tamburitza orchestras, eventually founding Orkestar Zabava in 1993.
In addition to his musical endeavors, Frank has built a successful career in information technology, holding leadership roles at several Pittsburgh-based companies. He currently serves as a project manager with the Croatian Fraternal Union of America. His blend of leadership, problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills—combined with his deep musical expertise—helps ensure the high-quality performances audiences have come to expect from The Tamburitzans.
Frank is married to Erin (Fagan) Božičević, a fellow Tamburitzan alumna from the Class of 1993, and together they have four sons.
