Lisa Edwards is a Tax Manager at Sisterson & Co. LLP, an independent public accounting and advisory firm based in Pittsburgh. In her role, she supports employers and nonprofit organizations in navigating the complex landscape of regulatory compliance for qualified pension, retirement, and health and welfare benefit plans. Lisa joined Sisterson in 2013 after 21 years as a Principal at a boutique Pittsburgh-based law firm specializing exclusively in employee benefits and benefits litigation. Prior to her legal career, she gained valuable experience working in the Pittsburgh tax departments of two international accounting firms. Lisa holds a Certificate in Benefit Plans (CBP) from the Duquesne University Paralegal Institute, which she earned while working full-time as a tax associate early in her career.
Lisa and her husband Jerry reside in Mars, PA, and are proud parents of four children and grandparents to one grandchild. Her connection to the arts runs deep—she fondly recalls attending a Tamburitzans performance in the late 1970s with her mother, who instilled in her a lasting appreciation for music and performance. That passion has flourished across generations in her family, with her children actively participating in high school dance and theater, as well as playing instruments such as the piano, trumpet, violin, and flute. Beyond her professional life, Lisa is deeply committed to mentoring young adults, especially in helping them navigate the often overwhelming paths to college and career fulfillment. She finds great joy in offering guidance, encouragement, and practical advice, drawing from her own experiences in guiding her children through college and beyond. Her passion lies in empowering the next generation to pursue their goals with confidence and clarity.
Lisa is honored to serve on the board, where she contributes to the mission of supporting talented performers in their pursuit of higher education. She values the opportunity to help students acquire college scholarships, build meaningful life skills, celebrate global cultural heritage, and form lasting friendships through the power of artistic expression and ensemble performance.
