Melissa Dunn (Sassano)

Board Member


Melissa (Missie) Dunn (Sassano) is Head of the Ohio Pittsburgh Market for Willis Towers Watson’s Corporate Risk & Broking line of business. She leads a cross-functional team in client management, sales and broking serving clients ranging from Fortune 1,000 global organizations to local companies. She is the co-chair of the WTW GEN Network and serves as a mentor in WTW’s global She Leads program.  Prior to Willis Towers Watson, Missie held senior positions at Aon, UPMC and Marsh focusing on business development, marketing, and product development.  She is active in the business community as well, founding the Executive Women of Pittsburgh, co-founding the Corporate Women's Collaborative of Western Pennsylvania and serving on the host commitee for the Future of Board Leadership program for the National Association of Corporate Directors.   

Missie is an active member of the nonprofit community in Pittsburgh, most recently Dress for Success Pittsburgh where she served on the board for over 5 years and chaired the Governance and Nominating committees as well as a member of the Women's Leadership Counsil of the United Way. She received a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration and a Masters in Multimedia from Duquesne University.   

Missie is tied to the Tamburitzans through her heritage, having routes in Lithuania, Germany and Italy. An ensemble member herself (DUT ’95 to ’98), Missie has been an active member of many Eastern European communities in Pittsburgh. Performing with several junior Tamburitzan ensembles, Poltava Ukrainian Dance Company and I Campagnoli as a youth. One of her most memorable performances being a private birthday party for Luciano Pavarotti!  After graduating from The Tamburiztzans ensemble, Missie was the choreographer for Trafford Junior Tamburitzans and danced with the Bulgarian Ensemble,  Otets Paissii for many years. She is passionate about culture, dance, music, food and travel and delights in celebrating rich cultures and traditions.
