Stephen Kruljac

Board Member


Dr. Stephen Kruljac, M.D., graduated from the University of Pittsburgh and Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine. He is a podiatric physician and surgeon with a private group practice in Pittsburgh for 38 years. Dr. Kruljac holds multiple hospital affiliations and has been an officer on several hospital medical staffs, as well as state and local medical societies.

Stephen has been the medical director at the Croatian Fraternal Union of America for the last 28 years. As a musician with a strong passion for ethnic music, he started playing tambura when he was 9 years old. He played with the Pittsburgh Junior Tamburtizans and the Tamburitza Philharmonic Orchestra in the 1970s and has been playing in his own Croatian band for the last 50 years. Stephen gained exposure to the Tamburitzan Ensemble in the 1960s and became more involved when his brother Michael became a member in the mid-70s. Dr. Kruljac is honored to be a part of the board and help promote the ensemble's mission of Scholarship, Performance, and Tradition.
