On Sunday, November 16, 2025, at 2:00 PM, The Tamburitzans will bring their spectacular 89th season performance to the DeYor Performing Arts Center in Youngstown, OH. With dazzling choreography, brilliant costumes, and live music, The Tamburitzans remain America’s longest-running multicultural performing company, thrilling audiences nationwide. We are especially delighted to return to Youngstown, a city rich with Croatian heritage and a deep appreciation for tambura music, where our traditions have long found a second home.
This performance also speaks powerfully to those of Ukrainian heritage, with dynamic numbers that highlight the artistry, spirit, and resilience of Ukrainian culture alongside traditions from Croatia, Hungary, Serbia, Romania, Ireland, and Bulgaria. The program opens with an original orchestral piece by contemporary composer Peter Kosovec, setting the tone for an afternoon of music and dance that celebrates both time-honored traditions and innovative creativity. We are especially excited to feature a vibrant piece from the Hutsul region of Ukraine, honoring its unique cultural legacy and spirit.
What makes The Tamburitzans extraordinary is that our world-class performers are also full-time college students. During the week, they’re studying to become nurses, doctors, engineers, educators, and business leaders; on weekends, they travel the country to share their artistry with communities like Youngstown. This unique balance of academic ambition and artistic excellence makes every performance not only entertaining but also inspiring, as audiences witness the dedication and passion of the next generation of cultural ambassadors.
